PINCUSHION

To make a 10 x 10 cm pincushion, cut a piece of material 11x11 cm and sew three of the four sides. Turn inside out, iron and fill with a material on which it is easy to stick the pins. I have filled my pincushions with different materials: straw, sawdust, and even leftover threads. I don't like the result of filling it with foam or tights. The pins don't stick well.

Finally, we can decorate our pincushions with a simple lace edging. Or with a contrasting colour band or a flounce, etc.

As you can see on the photograph, pincushions don't need to have necessarily a determined shape or size. It can be square, rectangular, round, oval... as we like it. The only important thing is that the pins prick easily, to make our work easier.
