(1890) - (1944). Along his professional path commander was promoted in chief of the XIV Armoured Corp and then to commander in chief of the I Panzer Army in Russia and later to General Captain. In April 1944, he died when his plane was reached.

During the Battle of Stalingrad he was leading the XIV Panzer Corps
