Mori–San José has been dedicated to the Investigation and Manufacture of Bagpipe for 19 years . He began this activity making bagpipes in C , he spent a great deal of time in them , not only for the amount of instruments created but for the constant improvements on them , this has resulted in a great bagpipe , with an excellent tuning , sound quality and finish . In order to improve the quality of the instrument , and after several years of investigation , Mori-San José presented the first bagpipe in Bb in 1992 , when due to the "Meeting of Bands with Asturian Bagpipes" recorded musical pieces played with this type of bagpipes for the first time . This bagpipe in Bb was gratly accepted amongst the asturian players as it turned out to be a good instrument for soloist and , above all , for bands as it consideraldy improved their sonority . Its use in bands proved to be satisfactory in the "Ciudad de Oviedo" contest of bands with asturian bagpipes in the years 1993 and 1994 , where the first three positions were for the bands : “Villaviciosa” , “Mieres del Camín” and “Xaranzana” , the only ones which , at that time , used bagpipes in Bb , all made by Mori-San José . In the following years several bands , folks groups and prestigious bagpipe soloist , started incorporating Mori-San José's bagpipes into their bands: Bands: “Villa de Mieres” , “La Viga Travesá” , “Xana” ...
Pipes manufactured by Mori-San José can be found today in several places throughout the world , from Australia to different countries both in Europe and in America . Mori-San José is currently creating bagpipes and flutes tuned in Eb. Pipes tuned in Eb , which are smaler , are very appropiate for children who still cannot handle the conventional instrument .
