Puerto Cabello, July 20 (1855).- The Mail's Administrator of this canton, informed this afternoon; in manuscript directed to Mr. Jorge Auslar (or A. Uslar), Main Mail´s Administrator of Carabobo State, the following thing: “Last night somebody tossed in the mailbox a crack package and a part of the correspondence was scorched. The political boss to who I gave immediately information was witnessed this morning of all that I leave exposed. I say it for your intelligence. I belong like your servant, Cornelio Perozo”. There are not stamps of a half Puerto Cabello, January 15 (1859).- Information has been received, of trustworthy source, in relation to the shortage of stamps of 1/2. Our contact has revealed that, today at 8:30 Mr. Ramón Pérez, Administrator of Mail of this canton, has sent telegraphic message to his superior in Valencia in the following terms: "Without fail to remit me stamps of a half real tomorrow. Without fail."
Mail needs driver Valencia, January 23 (1859).- The Mail's Administrator of the Puerto Cabello canton informed, at 9 o'clock, by Electric Telegraph: "The driver from Valencia was sick in the road, according to a commissary's report. I have made diligence and I have not still found who takes the valise because today is holiday. I continue in the diligence. Ramón Pérez C.". The corresponding telegram was received, in Valencia, for the Administrator of Mail. There aren't hand stamps yet to disable postage stamps Frauds to the Rent will be avoided Caracas, november 5 (1859).- The General Administrator of Mail, is concerned because some post offices don't have hand stamps yet to disable the postage stamps. He has just sent a memorandum to the Main Mail's Administrators of all Republic States. The objective is to assure the inutilización of novel postal species. He prays in this form: "Observing this General Administration that, frequently, some Administrations send their correspondence without disabling the stamps and that this negligence causes frauds to the Rent - because the stamps can be reused - I prevent you the strict execution of the article 4º and its S 1º of the Ordinance of last June 28 about the régime of the post offices; making same prevention to the subordinates of your dependence to who you will also manifest that while they are provided of the apparent hand stamps for the inutilización they have to verify this with the old hand stamps - those that conserve them - and with stylographic lines - those that lack them -. I belong to you attentive Servant. José Márquez Salcedo." * Those "appetizers" here presented are product of my investigation about MAIL'S ADMINISTRATION OF CARABOBO STATE (1851-60) at the "Archivo Histórico de Carabobo - María Clemencia Camarán" - House of The Celis - Valencia.
