PURE PHILATELY
The
spanish dictionary, defines philately, as the "art that
treat about the knowledge of the stamps, mainly mail's stamps, and liking
to collect them." When saying "art",
it refers to "a virtue, ability and
dexterity to make something (and to make it well) ". When saying "knowledge",
it refers to "practice and study". And, when saying "liking",
it refers to the "love". So, please, if you are
devoted to pick up stamps and to go putting them in a box... don't say
that
you
are philatelist. And if you think
in the money that
you
can obtain... don't say that
you are philatelist. You will be a good
philatelist, when
you will care
your pieces with the dexterity of a
famous painter, the virtuosity of a great pianist and the ability of an
olympic gymnast. You will be a good
philatelist, when
you
will dedicate to
your stamps the practice and the
study of a chess champion. You are a good
philatelist when
you loves
your stamps. Nobody can force you to
be a philatelist; but anything neither
nobody can
you to impede it. Philately
was born with you and you will be
able to develop it or not... but, please, if
you makes it... makes it well! It is
worthwhile. And, if you believe that
you have
enough with
your current occupations...
delight
your children to
be friends of those
little papers
that so many things can teach them (but simply inform them, not forces
them"). Jesús
