General Objective
- Coordinate and design project management and contract supervision tools in the Work Group created for the UNDP Honduras Program
"Support to Management, Modernization and Expansion of Honduras Public Telecommunication Company (Hondutel)", helping a
dynamic and transparent management, and provide technical advise in bid tender processes held during the Program.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement the most appropriate technological tools for the control and tracking of the Program.
- Coordinate and improve the information exchange between the management units of the program and report to the General Coordination about
updates and changes needed in the planning.
- Design and implement the most appropriate technological tools for the supervision of the contracts in the Program.
- Coordinate the contract supervision in which the correspondent technical experience and knowledge of the consultant is needed.
- Train consultants, field supervisors, and other staff of the Program in Project Management and the optimization
of the tools designed and implemented for planning and contract supervision.
- Collaborate in procurement processes in which the correspondent technical experience and knowledge of the consultant is needed
(revision and analysis of technical specifications sent by Hondutel, elaboration of bid tender documents, coordination of evaluation committees and contract negotiation).
- Elaborate recommendations about ICT technologies to be incorporated by Hondutel in Project Management and bid tender processes.

- The Program "Support to Management, Modernization and Expansion of Honduras Public Telecommunication Company (Hondutel)"
is an ICT for Development institutional cooperation agreement between UNDP and the Government of Honduras. The agreement will provide
an investment of 225 US$ millions in three years (2002-2005) provided by the Government and managed by UNDP Honduras.
- The Program includes over 60 international bid tender processes for the procurement and
installation of new telecommunications
technologies to match Honduras public telecommunication network with the other countries of Latin America.
Most important contracts in the Program:
- National Fiber Optics Network from Puerto Cortes to the frontier with El Salvador
- Expansion of the National Microwave Network
- Expansion of the National Rural Communication Network
- Expansion of the National Satellital Network Domsat
- Procurement and Installation of a Telecommunication Network for the Bay Islands
- Procurement and Installation of a new Call Center

Operation and Maintenance Engineer of the Vodafone GSM/GPRS network at the Airtel-Vodafone
Switching Center in Granada, operating with switching and transmission equipment and management systems.
Training in 2G and 3G mobile communication systems and protocols.
General Objective
Responsibilities
- Administrate the Vodafone GSM/GPRS management system of Andalusia, updating the BSTs, BSCs and MSCs configuration.
- Administrate the changes needed in the equipment of the Airtel Vodafone Switching Center in Granada.
- Collaborate, when needed, in the update of software patches and critical changes.
- Take part in the technical training of the center (switching equipment (ATM), transmission (SDH), management system, GSM/GPRS and
UMTS systems for mobile communications and net protocols (TCP/IP)).
- Take part in the definition of the Vodafone O&M strategy in
Andalusia for 2002.
