Photos and brief description of

systems in the laboratory

The installation is done with little resources and the effort was cocentrated in the stellarator itself and the vacuum system. There is no electric control panel nor conductions for the cables. The reason is only the lack of time and/or economical resources.

Photo 3 .  Vacuum system. A Pfeiffer mechanical pump , 4m3/h  and a Leybold diffusion pump ~150L/s (both second hand items) are seen. High and low vaccum gauges (see also Photo 1). At the bottom and right the e-gun power supplies-controller and the measuring devices for it. The e-gun is installed at the port (right-top).

Photo 2 .  Top view of power supplies. 2 scientific-like 3A , 5 to 15V adjustable DC power supplies, 4 single-phase transformers from 0.3 to 1 Kw with different outputs. They feed  125V  devices from USA, the rectifier of the e-gun accelerator, for the gas discharge experiments (in Air and Argon), regulate the heater of the diffusion pump and other temporal applications.

Photo 4 . Power supplies for the TF modular coils. At the moment 17Kw are supplied to the coils with only 5 batteries. The charge of the batteries last 15-20 pulses of 2.5 seconds length. ~10 batteries are necessary to work at first harmonic ECH  2.45GHz (now 2nd harmonic heating)
