Esta página pretende dar a conocer las novedades discográficas que se publican en el mercado del blues nacional e internacional, que son las mismas que mes a mes se van radiando en el programa y aparecen en nuestra "playlist". Desde aquí podreis visitar las webs de los sellos, de las bandas, de los músicos, o bien sus mails para poder contactar con ellos y comprar sus discos. Estas críticas se renuevan mensualmente y permanecen durante todo un trimestre.
Como podreis ver al pie, cada cd aparte de la reseña lleva la clasificación que le corresponde (siempre desde un punto de vista subjetivo, ya que no pretendemos sentar cátedra) así como su web o, en su defecto, la dirección o mail.
"La Hora del Blues" es un programa que pretende popularizar, expandir y dar a conocer, a través de las "ondas" en Barcelona y de Internet en cualquier parte del globo, esta música maravillosa que el pueblo afroamericano ha legado, no sólo a lo suyos, sino también a todos los que a través del blues vemos un camino para reflejar nuestros sentimientos.... y también porque no, si músicos, grupos, sellos discográficos, distribuidores, aficionados... etc. pueden verse favorecidos de una manera u otra desde estas páginas, mi felicidad habrá llegado a término.

QUARTERLY CDS REVIEWS

The aim of this section is to give knowledge to national and international blues new releases. In fact they are the same cds that evey month are on air and can also be seen at the "playlist". These reviews are monthly renewed and stay three months on line.
You will find here a "guideline" that summarizes the most outstanding features of each cd. This will allow people around the world to receive a first hand opinion before buying new releases.
Each cd is "classified"(always done from a subjective point of view) as it is not our purpose to give lessons or pontificate about, as well as its website or contact address or e-mail.
"La Hora del Blues" is a blues radio show only devoted to make blues well known all over the world thanks to radio waves and internet too. We hope that eveybody can enjoy the wonderful music that is the legacy that afroamerican people has given to the human race and specially to all of us that by and through the blues see a way to express our feelings. If musicians, bands, labels, record companies, distributors, fans and blues lovers all over the world can enjoy and be helped an favoured in any way from this pages, my dream will be accomplished. It js just been published the new issue of Blues Matters! magazine. As usual it includes attractive juicy interviews with such interesting bands and musicians like Mick Abrahams, Jon Clearly, Greg Koch or singer and harp player Cheryl Arena. This new issue also includes latest news, gigs reviews, fifteen pages of cds reviews and other interesting surprises, not only for blues fans but also for good rock-blues, soul, gospel… lovers. You will find 120 exciting and carefully designed satin paper pages with lots of well done pictures too. The magazine is printed on black&white and color from United Kingdom and fills a gap on european blues scene. Various Artists “The United Records Store”. Delmark 2004. Este disco puede catalogarse como una auténtica obra maestra y cuenta con algunos de los mas grandes artifices del blues, del gospel, del jazz y del r&b de los años cincuenta.  El cd contiene veintidós canciones, varias de ellas inéditas hasta el momento, de una calidad excepcional y fuera de toda duda. Algunos de los nombres que se dan cita en este disco son Roosvelt Sykes, Junior Wells, Robert Nighthawk, Memphis Slim, J.T. Brown, Paul Bascomb, Tab Smith o Morris Pejoe hasta llegar a los veintidós excepcionales intérpretes reunidos en este cd. IMPRESCINDIBLE. This record can be considered as a real mastery piece of work because it gathers some of the fifties greatest blues, gospel, jazz and r&b names. Twenty two amazing songs, some of them previously unreleased. You will find such great names like Roosvelt Sykes, Junior Wells, Robert Nighthawk,

Memphis Slim. J.T. Brown, Paul Bascomb, Tab Smith or Morris Pejoe among others to complete the twenty two excellent artists included on this cd. ESSENTIAL.

Kevin Cooke “Ain’t The Weather Strange”. Limited Capital 2004. Para este disco Cooke se ha inspirado en aquellas estupendas bandas de los años sesenta que contaban en sus filas con secciones de viento incluyendo trompeta, saxos y a veces trombón. Blues del bueno, cantado e interpretado de forma amena, inspirada y sobre todo convincente. El grupo suena conjuntado e irradian swing y feeling por los cuatro costados.  Un álbum que debo confesar me ha sorprendido gratamente y puedo asegurar que a vosotros también os sorprenderá si decidis haceros con una copia. MUY BUENO. For recording this cd Kevin Cooke has found inspiration on those old great sixties bands that included powerful horn sections with trumpet, saxos and even trombone. You will find good blues on this cd, sung and performed on a very inspired pleasant way but specially with a very convincing style. The band sounds very teamed and show a lot of swing and a tremendous feeling. I must confess the cd has really surprised me and I am sure it will also surprise you if you decide to buy it. GREAT.   

Eric Noden “55 Highway”. Diving Duck 1998. // Eric Noden “Midwest Blues”.  Diving Duck 2003. 55 Highway es un disco que fue realizado hace ya unos años pero que conserva toda su autenticidad y magia. Eric está tremendamente inspirado, tanto en los vocales como con su trabajo con la guitarra acústica y el slide que maneja con precisión y virtuosismo, como también en el piano, instrumento en el cual también se atreve a hacer alguna incursión. En su segundo y reciente ‘Midwest Blues’ nuestro hombre sigue los patrones anteriores y se recrea con gran emoción y maestría en temas compuestos por él mismo, más algunos otros clásicos de Big Bill Broonzy, Gary Davis o Mississippi John Hurt. Noden también cuenta con la participación de Rick Sherry a la armónica y washboard y Tom Ray al contrabajo en algunos temas. Blues con raices y tradición que procede directamente del corazón del sur profundo. Si os gusta el foot-stomping-acoustic-guitar, entonces Eric Noden es vuestro hombre, no os equivocareis si comprais sus discos. MUY BUENO. ’55 Highway’ cd was recorded some years ago but it still retains its original magic. Eric is really inspired, not only in vocals but also on acoustic guitar and slide he mastery plays and he even gives us some good details on piano. On the second and last cd ‘Midwest Blues’ he follows the same patterns than on his previous work and he passionately and mastery performs some own compositions together with different Big Bill Broonzy, Gary Davis or Mississippi John Hurt original blues. In some tunes Eric Noden is backed by Rick Sherry on harp and washboard and Tom Ray on double bass. Real traditional roots blues that come directly from deep south counties. If you like foot-stomping-acoustic-guitar, Eric Noden is your man and your will not make a mistake if you buy his cds. GREAT.    

The Groove Hogs “Blue Rhythms White Lies”. Píxel Max / Christine Vitale 2004. The Groove Hogs son una sorprendente banda formada por diez músicos con una vitalidad y técnica musical desmesuradas. Poderosos, enérgicos y tremendamente efectistas, Los Groove Hogs despertarán la adormecida pasión musical de más de uno en cuanto escuchen las primeras notas de este electrizante álbum que contiene 50 minutos de vibrante soul, blues y rhythm and blues del bueno, incluso me atrevería a decir que son de lo mejor que uno se pueda imaginar…. Gran sonido, musculoso y muy poderoso, perfecto para ser disfrutado y saboreado en infinidad de ocasiones. MUY BUENO. The Groove Hogs are an amazing ten musicians band with a huge unbelievable vitalistic musical technique. Powerful vigourous and very effective, The Groove Hogs will immediately awake your numbed musical passion from the first notes of this electrifying album containing 50 minutes of bright soul, blues and rhythm and blues and I even dare say they are one of the best actual new bands… Powerful hard sound, perfect to enjoy it on countless occasions without getting tired.GREAT. 

Ruben V “I am”. Old Dog / Christine Vitale 2004. Cantante y guitarrista de enorme talento musical y creativo, que nos obsequia con un álbum brillante y muy bien producido. Ruben V explora caminos donde se dan la mano el blues, el country y la música con ligeros matices latinos, combinando todos estos estilos con maestría y elegancia. Un buen híbrido musical que gustará a los mas atrevidos degustadores de la música americana en general y especialmente a los paladares mas eclécticos e informales. BUENO. Ruben V is a singer and guitar player with a huge musical talent. This time he gives us a bright well performed and carefully produced cd. He investigates different musical paths from blues to country or even music with some latin influences, all them tastefully and mastery combined. A good musical mixture that will certainly satisfy a wide range of americana music lovers but specially to the most daring eclectic and casual listenners. VERY GOOD.  

Victor Aneiros Band “O Blues Do Amencer”- Gaztelupeko Hotsak 2004. Este cantante y guitarrista español llamado Victor Aneiros, despliega en su tercer cd todo el conocimiento y buen hacer que le caracteriza de forma directa y sencilla, sin tapujos y con enorme honestidad. Blues cantado en su lengua natal, el gallego, y arropado por una banda más que correcta a base de piano, bajo y bateria. Los buenos aficionados al blues en España saben de sobras quien es este hombre y conocen su trabajo. Ahora es un buen momento para que los aficionados y coleccionistas de otros lugares descubran las excelencias y el genio de Victor Aneiros. BUENO. This Spanish singer and guitar player called Victor Aneirosdisplays in his third cd all his musical knowledge and good taste. He has done an honest piece of work, simple, straight but, at the same time, very elegant and well performed. Blues sung in galician, his native tongue, perfectly backed by piano, bass and drums. Spanish blues fans perfectly know him and appreciate his work. This is a good occasion for blues lovers and collectors around the world to become familiar with the genius and qualitites of Victor Aneiros’. VERY GOOD.   

 Jean Paul Rena & Terrawheel “Introducing…”. CoraZong 2004. Puro y visceral ‘raw rockin’ blues’ de Chicago a cargo de Jean Paul Rena & The Terrawheel, que despiertan una enorme pasión por todos los lugares donde pasan. Este grupo, liderado por el cantante y guitarrista Jean Paul Rena, viven de lleno y con pasión la música que tocan y eso se transmita al oyente con una pasmosa facilidad desde las primeras notas de ‘Enough Is Enough’, tema con el que se abre el disco. El grupo se completa con la participación de armónica, bajo y bateria. Una banda honesta, que disfrutan con lo que hacen y que son un fiel exponente del estilo antes mencionado. BUENO. Pure deep gut feeling Chicago ‘raw rockin’ blues’ performed by Jean Paul Rena & The Terrawheel who really get a passionate response from the audience in every gig they play. Singer and guitar player Paul Rena leads this band who totally live and deeply enjoy the music they play, which becomes evident since the first notes of the openning cd tune ‘Enough is Enough’. The rest of the instruments are harp, bass and drums. A honest band who love what they play that is only pure real Chicago rockin’ blues. VERY GOOD.   

Amos Garrett “Acoustic Album”. Stony Plain 2004. Amos Garrett es un músico de sobras conocido por los buenos aficionados al blues en Canada. Ahora se ha destapado con un disco acústico donde tanto él como sus músicos se han puesto de acuerdo para aparcar la electricidad. ‘Acoustic Album’ es un disco fresco, relajado y divertido que contiene doce canciones, algunas propias y otras de diferentes compositores como Chris Whitley, Hoagy Carmichael o Paul Geremia entre otros. Blues, baladas y swing a partes iguales se respiran en este variado y jugoso álbum. BUENO. Amos Garrett is a well known musician among Canadian blues circles. Now he surprises us with an acoustic record where all the backing musicians and Amos himself have decided to shelve electrifyied instruments. The result has been ‘Acoustic Album’, a cool, relaxed enjoyable cd containing twelve songs, some of them own compositions and the rest from different song writers like Chris Whitley, Hoagy Carmichael or Paul Geremia among others. Blues, ballads and swing appear in equal parts along this juicy varied record. VERY GOOD.    

Jay Geils, Duke Robillard, Ferry Beaudoin “New Guitar Summit”. Stony Plain 2004. Extraordinaria reunión de maestros en el arte de tocar la guitarra, quienes han querido aunar su talento y sus fuerzas para desarrollar un álbum donde se dan la mano el jazz, el blues y el swing. Un cd básicamente instrumental y bien construído sobre formas, patrones y armonías comunes al trio de guitarras. Un disco amable y cálido donde los tres músicos se combinan perfectamente, tanto entre ellos como en los solos que efectúan. Disco especialmente recomendado para los amantes de la música relajada con patrones de sabor ‘groove’. MUY BUENO. An excellent summit reunion of three guitar players real masters who have decided to join forces and talent to develop a record where you will find jazz, blues and swing music. A basically instrumental cd but perfectly built on the harmonic patters and performing ways the three guitar players share. A warm pleasant record where the three musicians perfectly match their musical styles together with their variety of different solos. A hightly recommended cd for relaxed and ‘groove’ patterns music lovers. GREAT.  

Sharrie Williams “Hard Drivin’ Woman”. Crosscut 2004. Para los que aún no conozcan a esta cantante, que ya ha visitado Europa en unas cuantas ocasiones, decirles que, a pesar de su juventud, tiene una vasta experiencia en el mundo del ‘show business’. En este álbum, editado por la compañía alemana Crosscut Records, Sharrie Williams despliega todo su potencial sonoro en catorce interpretaciones de puro ‘rockin’-gospel-blues’ que harán las delicias de los aficionados a este estilo del que Sharrie Williams es una de sus máximas exponentes. Por algo es conocida como ‘The Princess of Gospel Blues’. MUY BUENO. For those of you who are not familiar with this singer, only mentionthat although her youth age she has regularly visited Europe and she has already adquired a huge experience on the ‘show business’ world. On this cd, published by reputed Crosscut german label, Sharrie Williams gives us all her powerful vocal abilities in fourteen pure ‘rockin’-gospel-blues’ performings that will delight all lovers of that musical style Sharrie Williams totally controls which has let her to become one of the most outstanding names of the kind of music she plays. There must be a reason why she is known as ‘The Princess of Gospel Blues’. GREAT.  

JW – Jones Blues Band “My Kind Of Evil”. NorthernBlues / Crosscut 2004. Nuevo trabajo del joven cantante y guitarrista canadiense JW Jones, editado originalmente por NorhernBlues y distribuido en Europa bajo licencia de Crosscut Records, donde este artista se consolida definitivamente como uno de los mejores representantes del r&b y el blues de los años cincuenta, además de poseer también un toque de swingabilly. Kim Wilson produce el álbum y toca de invitado en algunos temas. Un disco brillante, auténtico y genuino que nos transporta a las mejores épocas del blues de Chicago de hace cinco décadas. MUY BUENO. A new piece of work coming from this young singer and guitar player JW Jones, originally published by NorthernBlues and distributed in Europeby Crosscut Records licence. Jones has definitively got a reputations as one of the best fifties blues and r&b performers and he also gives a swingabilytouch to his playing. Kim Wilson has produced the cd and he also contributes as a guest musician in some tunes. A bright genuine original cd that take us back to the best Chicago blues period about fifty years ago. GREAT.   

Egypt “Midnight Sun”. Blues Matters! 2004. Definitivamente este trio inglés tienen aquel sonido que caracterizaba a los Groundhogs en la era del r&b británico. Salvando las distancias en el tiempo, los Egyptposeen un sonido todavía más enérgico y visceral que sus antecesores y un punchmucho más rockero en la forma de vestir su música. Si os gusta el rock-bluesdemoledor, duro y eléctrico, estais ante un cdque os cautivará de principio a fin. Buenos riffs de guitarra distorsionada con un tono excelente, junto a contundentes patrones de bajo eléctrico y un poderoso beat de bateria, componen un álbum totalmente satisfactorio. BUENO. Undoubtelythis British trio have the particular sound characteristic of old r&b britishGroundhogs. Apart from the time gap, The Egypt have got a much more powerful flammingsound than their predecessors with a harder rocking punch of approaching music. If you like demolishing hard electrifying rock-blues, your are now facing a cdthat will certainly captivate you from the beginning to the end. Good distorted guitar riffs all with an excellent tone, together with blunt electric bass patterns and powerful drums beat, complete a totally satisfactory record. VERY GOOD.  

Jo Ann Kelly “Blues & Gospel”. Blues Matters! 2004. Jo Ann Kelly falleció hace muchos años, sin embargo, sus blues y sus canciones permanecen todavía en el corazón de todos los grandes aficionados al blues en Europa. Este disco era enormemente esperado por todos sus incondicionales y  por supuesto no ha decepcionado a ninguno de ellos. pues Jo Ann Kelly nos vuelve a ofrecer toda su elegancia, su frescura y esa sensibilidad especial que sabía transmitir al oyente. Un total de dieciséis canciones, ocho de ellas inéditas, componen un álbum imprescindible para cualquier aficionado al blues que quiera tener una buena colección de discos. Enhorabuena a la dirección de la revista y a la vez compañía de discos Blues Matters por editar esta pequeña obra maestra de la ‘Reina del Blues Británico’. IMPRESCINDIBLE. Unfortunately Jo Ann Kelly passed away a long time ago, but her blues songs still remain deep in the heart of all European blues lovers. This cd has been long time awaited among her fans and of course it has not deceived anyone, because Jo Ann Kelly again gives us all her elegant good taste and her cool special sensibility she immediately communicated. Sixteen songs, eight of them previously unreleased, have been gathered on this essential cd for any blues fan who aims to have a good blues record collection. Congratulations to Blues Matters magazine and all the record label staff for publishing this small jewell of ‘The British Blues Queen’. ESSENTIAL.   

Roadhouse “No Place To Hide”. Blues Matters! 2004. Segunda apuesta del sello ingles Blues Matters por los Roadhouse, grupo liderado por Gary Poner, cantante, guitarrista, fundador y alma mater de esta banda compuesta por siete miembros, tres de ellos mujeres, quienes ponen sus habilidades vocales al servicio de los Roadhouse. El resultado es una variada colección de canciones bien interpretadas y de gran potencial cualitativo, concebidas con el único propósito de entretener al oyente y hacerle partícipe del encanto de su relajada concepción musical. Si os gustan las baladas rock con armonías vocales y arreglos de guitarra en la linea de los antiguos Wishbone Ash, aquí teneis un buen disco. BUENO. Second Blues Matters label Roadhouse recording proposal, the band leaded by Gary Poner, singer, guitar player, founder and driving force of this seven musicians group, three of them women, who give the best of their vocal qualities. The result is a collection of varied songs, well performed and with a powerful quality, only conceived to give enjoyment to different audiences and let them participate with their relaxed musical style. If you like rock ballads with vocal harmonies and guitar arrangements on the path of the ancient Wishbone Ash, here you have a good record. VERY GOOD.    

Danny Bryant’s RedEyeBand “”Covering Their Tracks”. Blues Matters! 2004. Album de blues directo, pasional, efervescente, explosivo y hasta incluso podríamos decir que tierno en algunos momentos… aunque no por ello frágil. Danny Bryant demuestra un indudable talento creativo en este disco y expone de manera clara, concisa y contundente su concepto del estilo que quiere interpretar, y que estrictamente no es otro que blues de alto voltaje, con un poderoso registro vocal y efectivo control y dominio de los pedales, tanto el ‘overdrive’, como el ‘wha-wha’ o el ‘deelay’. Blues de la escuela de Gary Moore es lo que encontrareis en este compacto. BUENO. Powerful passionate straight blues album, vivacious and very electrifying and explosive but, at the same time, tender in some passages… which does not mean fragile. Danny Bryant shows a real creative skill on this cd and he concise clearly gives us his concept of the straight musical concept he performs, that is high voltage blues with powerful vocal registers and an effective control and command of different pedals devices like ‘overdrive’, ‘wha-wha’ or ‘delay’. Blues with lots of Gary Moore influences is what you will find on this cd. VERY GOOD.

Joe Louis Walker “New Direction”. Blues Bureau / Jump Start 2004. Este veterano de la carretera vuelve de nuevo a la carga con un trabajo lleno de funk, blues, rock y r&b pasado por el tamiz de su propio y vigoroso estilo personal que le caracteriza, imprimiendo toda la fuerza y el coraje a los que que nos tiene acostumbrados. Su peculiar mezcla de estilos se pone nuevamente de manifiesto en este disco, que resulta tan convincente como casi todos sus anteriores trabajos. Joe Louis Walker irrumpe en el mercado con este cd donde se nos muestra tan versátil, excitante e innovativo como siempre. BUENO. This road veteran bluesman attacks again with a new piece of work full of funk, blues, rock and r&b, but all them filtered by his own powerful personal style which gives as a result the strong powerful music he always performs. The original mixture of different styles becomes evident along the whole cd that, like other previous releases, can be qualified as a very convincing solid record. Joe Louis Walker bursts on musical market with this new cd where he shows himself as versatile exciting innovative and amazing musician as ever. VERY GOOD.

Saturday Nite Fish Fry “Rhythm & Soul”. 7 Arts Music 2004. Si os gusta y disfrutais con el sonido jive, swing y jump blues de los años cuarenta y cincuenta entonces no dudeis que este es un disco que os emocionará y os divertirá hasta lo mas profundo de vuestro ser. Estais ante una poderosa banda capaz de fabricar la música mas intensa y personal que podais imaginar por el exquisito gusto con el que escogen el repertorio. Catorce canciones, la mayoria de ellas de nombres poco conocidos por el aficionado medio, y entre las que caben destacar a Sheri Washington, Bill King, Henry Glover o Big Maybelle. Un álbum más que recomendable. MUY BUENO. If you love and enjoy listenning to fourties and fifties jive, swing and jump blues, you will certainly like this cd that I imagine will deeply move you. You are facing a powerful band who are able to do the most intense personal music you can imagine and who also have done an accurate selection of tunes. Twelve excellent songs, the majority coming from quite unknown artists like Sheri Washington, Bill King, Henry Glover or Big Maybelle. A highly recommended record. GREAT.  

Pinetop Perkins “Ladies Man”. M.C. Records 2004. Auténtico regalo de la compañía que dirige Mark Carpentieri al legendario pianista y cantante Pinetop Perkins como celebración de su noventa y un cumpleaños. A lo largo del disco el maestro está acompañado por buenas amigas como Odetta, quien canta el siempre recomendable ‘Trouble In Mind’ de Big Bill Broonzy, Ann Rabson del grupo Saffire, Deborah Coleman, Susan Tedeschi, Marcia Ball o la impresionante y entrañable Ruth Brown. Un disco perfecto para todos aquellos fans de nuestro querido y admirado Pinetop Perkins que quieran degustar nuevas dosis de piano blues y buenas voces femeninas. BUENO. Marc Carpentieri, M.C. Records owner and director, contributes with this recording to celebrate Pinetop Perkins’ ninety one birthday.. Along the cd different good Pinetop’s friend women sing as guest artists paying homage to this piano master. You will find Odetta, who sings Big Bill Broonzy’s amazing ‘Troublw In Mind’, Ann Rabson from Saffire, Deborah Coleman, Susan Tedeschi, Marcia Ball or the impressive lovely Ruth Brown. A perfect record for those of you who are looking for a new piano blues dose and good female voices but specially for people like me who are fans of our beloved and admired Pinetop Perkins. VERY GOOD.

Plas Johnson “The Best Of Plas Jonson”. Wolf 2004. Este es uno de esos álbums que realmente se agradecen cuando aparecen en el mercado. Plas Johnson es uno de los saxofonistas más prolíficos que ha dado el rock & roll, el r&b e incluso el jazz o el pop (a él se debe el tema central de la serie ‘La Pantera Rosa’, ‘Pink Panther’, que popularizó Henry Manzini,). Su saxo ha respaldado a un sinfín de nombres como los de la Orquesta de Henry Manzini, B.B. King, Fats Domino, Little Richard, Gene Vincent, Ricky Nelson y muchisimos otros. También ha tocado el saxo tenor y el alto en innumerables series de televisión. La compañía austriaca Wolf se honra ahora en presentarnos este disco instrumental de Plas Johnson que los buenos aficionados estaban esperando desde hace ya años. MUY BUENO. This is one of those records that is highly welcomed when any label decides to publish it. Plas Johnson is one of the most prolific saxo players musicians. He has largely played rock & roll, r&b and even jazz and pop music (he wrote ‘Pink Panther’ tv serie theme that got an enormous popularity on Henry Manzini’s orchestra version). His sax has backed lots of popular artists such as Henry Manzini, B.B. King, Fats Domino, Little Richard, Gene Vincent or Ricky Nelson among others. He has also played tenor and alto sax for lots of tv series. Austrian Wolf label is proud to publish this Plas Johnson instrumental record that has been really awaited for quite a long time. Watermelon Slim “Up Close & Personal”. Southern 2004. Watermelon vuelve a sorprendernos de nuevo con este trabajo fresco, íntimo y tan personal. Como en anteriores grabaciones, Slim vuelve a demostrar un talento innato para conjugar con habilidad la música con raíces, el blues profundo y la música americana entroncada en las raices más tradicionales. Nuestra felicitación más sincera a la compañía Southern Records por la política que están manteniendo de apostar por el blues y que no ha variado ni un solo ápice desde que empezaron su andadura por este mundo tan duro y difícil del negocio musical. Para los que no conozcan a Watermelon Slim, sólo decir que a lo largo de su carrera ha tocado junto a nombres como el malogrado Henry 'Sunflower' Vestine, Bonnie Raitt, Robert Cray, Champion Jack Dupree o John Lee Hooker. Slim desgrana sus blues  con toda la emoción, el ímpetu y la intensidad con la que sólo los verdaderos bluesmen saben hacerlo. MUY BUENO.
